Harbour and River ToursEnjoy a half-hour trip around Harwich Harbour or along the rivers Stour or Orwell. The Harwich side of the harbour has been an important port since Middle Ages, today with the advent of the Felixstowe container port and the passenger ferry and cruise ship terminal at Parkeston Quay, the harbours one of the busiest for shipping movements in Europe.
Trips along the River Stour (the geographical border of Essex and Suffolk) and the River Orwell (from which the author Eric Blair adopted his pen-name George Orwell), provide beautiful scenes of sailing boats and nature reserves. Trips run between Easter and mid-September at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 hours every day from Ha'penny Pier, Harwich subject to weather and demand. Adults £5, under 12's £4. Exclusive half-hour
